In most cases there is no action for you to take and this notification is for information purposes only. There are two areas to note and check:

Email Settings Check

There is no impact of this migration if you are using your domain name in the email settings on all your devices. The correct format for your email settings should be:

If you are currently using the servers hostname {$service_server_name} please ensure you change this prior to the start of the migration.

If you are managing your own Domain Registration, i.e. not through CloudTree, you will need to update your domain to use new name servers below, however if this is applicable you will be contacted directly on this point, otherwise no action on your part is required.

Why the Upgrade?

The internet is a fast paced and fast moving animal, the number one focus for CloudTree is to ensure that not only do our customers get one of the best UK based hosting platforms, but that we also provide the very best security for your data. To this end CloudTree have invested heavily in new servers based on CloudLinux and Imunify360 technologies. Here is a little information on both:

CloudLinux OS is one of the securest operating systems designed specifically for hosting platforms. It is designed for shared hosting providers. It isolates each customer into a separate “Lightweight Virtualized Environment” (LVE), which partitions, allocates, and limits server resources, like memory, CPU, and connections, for each tenant. This ensures that tenants cannot jeopardize the stability of your servers, causing all sites to slow down or even come to a halt. CloudLinux OS also “cages” tenants from one another to avoid security breaches. This way, unstable scripts or malware are not able to sprawl across your customer sites, causing severe harm.

IMUNIFY360 - The Complete Six-Layer Security for Your Linux Web Server. Imunify360 is a next-generation security solution built for Linux VPS, Dedicated, and Shared servers. It uses herd immunity and the unique, proactive approach to provide total protection against known and unknown attacks.

CloudTree will continue to provide you with the highest quality hosting service for your website and emails ensuring we do everything we can to protect your data and domain reputation from the ever increasing threats we all face online. Please remember, CloudTree will never contact you by email asking you to provide any sensitive or personal data. If you are ever in doubt please do not open an email and visit to see our knowledge base support articles or to raise a support ticket.

If you do experience any issues or have any questions about this upgrade, please first check your email settings to ensure the correct mail.<yourdomain> format is used before contact support via your customer portal.

Kindest Regards
